Catholic Church and Homophobia

So, Does really Catholic Church teaches to oppose Homo Sexuality in all ways? To be specific, as the descendants of Christ, Does Christ really teach that homosexuality is a wrong thing (sin) and it has to be suppressed or to be hated? If we grasp the real essence of Jesus's teachings, He taught us to love everyone no matter what. That's why he shortened the ten old testament laws into two: 1) You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. 2) You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Still, the people who claim to be his descendants and the leaders who rule them and lead them, teach the world that homosexuality is a sin and its a mental condition to be counseled and repaired with the right guidance.
